Spiral Cellars Construction Process

Cellar Construction Process

Most Spiral Cellars can be installed in 5-9 days.

We have our own teams, dedicated to the installation of our cellars.

Wine Cellar Construction
First a hole is dug 2,200mm in diameter and to the pre-arranged depth. The bottom is covered with a layer of sand, a base felt placed over it and more felt positioned around the walls.

Next the whole construction is lined with a butyl liner and a second base felt put into position. A reinforced base slab is poured - without touching the liner - and left overnight.

Now the cellar begins to take shape. The pre-cast modules with one step per layer are placed in position and two coping stones line the entrance. The ventilation pipes are fitted.

Finally the trap door of your choice is fitted - though it needs to be left open for a fortnight while the cellar dries out fully.

Six to eight weeks after installation, to guarantee your satisfaction, our After Sales Manager will visit the cellar to check that it is to our high standards before signing it off.
