With 30 years' experience of providing wine cellars across the UK and Europe, we are delighted to be able to meet the growing demand for our unique product here, in Ireland, where more and more people are interested in collecting, storing and drinking wine in their homes.
In the UK we have four installation teams, each installing one cellar a week, every week. We are delighted to announce that we now have an approved installer in Ireland, with many years of experience in construction and renovation, and now fully-trained by our experts in cellar installation. All the administration, including the booking of site surveys, will continue to be handled by our experienced team in the UK.
The main principles of installing Spiral Cellars in the UK also apply to Ireland.
Once you have decided that you really like the idea of having a Spiral Cellar, we invite you to book a free, no-obligation site survey. One of our team in the UK will organise for our Irish based approved installer to visit your home and guide you through the decision-making process, ensuring that your cellar is in the best possible location and that the specification (depth/ trap door etc) meets your needs and budget. He will also gather basic information on load-bearing walls, location of services etc. You may want to involve your architect and/or contractor in this process.
If you are planning other building work – an extension, for example, please involve us as early as possible in the process. A site visit may not be relevant at this stage, but we will happily meet with you and your architect to go through the plans and advise on the optimum location for the cellar.
If you are in the Dublin area, we can arrange a visit to one of our cellars. You can also get a very good idea of how the cellar works and the space it affords by watching the video on our website. Once ongoing projects are complete, there will be others to see, thanks to the generosity of their proud owners!
No. Installation requires our specialist expertise. However, you can arrange for your builder to excavate the hole. We will provide instructions and guidance and our Project Manager will visit to confirm that the site and excavation are ready before our team arrives to fit the cellar.
Planning permission is not usually required. We can advise on any planning and building regulation enquiries on a case by case basis and on any issues connected to Architectural Conservation areas or Protected Structures, where our approved installer has considerable direct experience.
...and the deposit received, our engineer prepares the structural calculations and these can be used, if need be, for any approval submission.
On +44 845 241 2768 or info@spiralcellars.com and we'll assist you.
