June's Client Case Study

Langstaff Case Study

This is the home of interior designer Claire Langstaff. She worked with an architect, kitchen designer and contractors in order to undergo a whole house redecoration. Works included an extension at the back, lowering the floor of a garden room and the knocking through of the lower ground floor rooms; creating one large living space.

Claire and her husband considered the idea of having a wine cellar when a friend had a cellar put in to his house. They went on to speak to another friend who was also considering installing a Spiral Cellar. Upon discovering the website and exploring the many aesthetical options Claire stated that ‘there appeared to be no comparable companies and the designs seemed to be exactly what we wanted.’

They had a growing wine collection at home with out adequate storage. The wine they owned was not an investment and so didn’t want to pay someone else to store it, it therefore needed to be close to hand for drinking and enjoying.

When the extension incorporated an excavation, Claire decided that this was a perfect opportunity to go ahead with a Spiral Cellar. She requested a brochure in November 2007, had a site survey a week later and placed an order for a 2.5m White Spiral cellar with a recessed trap door two weeks after survey. Although the order was placed in January the Spiral Cellar was not actually installed until August that year. This fitted in perfectly with the other works in Claire’s property.

The cellar took five days to install and was signed off a month later and Claire continued to press on with the redecoration of her property. Since the property has been finished Claire’s home has been featured in a storage feature in Beautiful Kitchens magazine. She is delighted with her Spiral Cellar and has been showing prospective clients around since.
