According to The Times, having a 10ft hole under your kitchen with steel shuttering, reinforced concrete and hundreds of priceless bottles of wine is the latest status symbol for the one per cent. According to the report, demand for basement wine cellars soared in the three months of lockdown with homeowners happily spending tens of thousands of pounds on the instalment.
